MiraDry

MiraDry: Medical treatment for excessive sweating.

MiraDry is a non-surgical medical treatment for underarm hyperhidrosis, indicated to permanently reduce excessive sweating and odor in the underarms. It uses controlled thermal energy to selectively eliminate the sweat glands responsible for sweating, without surgery and with rapid recovery.

It acts on the deep layer of the skin, where the glands that produce sweat are located. By selectively destroying them, and since they do not regenerate, the result is long-lasting.

Each session lasts approximately 60 to 90 minutes and, depending on the degree of sweating, one or two sessions may be required to achieve a significant reduction. At Cliniq, we perform this procedure with medical criteria and individual planning.

Benefits of MiraDry

Permanent reduction in underarm sweating: MiraDry eliminates the sweat glands responsible for underarm hyperhidrosis. As they do not regenerate, the reduction in sweating is long-lasting and clinically significant.

Reduction in odor: By acting on the apocrine glands, it also reduces underarm odor, improving freshness and confidence in everyday life.

Outpatient treatment with visible improvement from the first session: MiraDry is performed under local anesthesia, without surgery or hospitalization. Sweat reduction is usually noticeable early on and, depending on each case, a second session may be recommended to enhance the results.

Real impact on quality of life: Fewer stains on clothing, greater freedom in dressing, and more peace of mind in social settings. A functional change that is noticeable.

How is MiraDry treatment performed?

The process begins with a medical evaluation to confirm the diagnosis of axillary hyperhidrosis and determine whether the treatment is right for you. On the day of the session, we carefully mark the area to be treated and apply local anesthesia to make the procedure comfortable.

Then, the MiraDry device emits controlled electromagnetic energy that generates heat in the deep layer of the skin, where the glands responsible for excessive sweating are located. This energy selectively destroys the glands, while a cooling system protects the surface layer of the skin.

The session lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. Afterwards, it is normal to experience mild swelling or temporary sensitivity, which gradually improves over the following days. Most people resume their normal activities within a short time.

Yes. MiraDry is a medical treatment approved by the FDA and regulatory agencies such as INVIMA in Colombia for the treatment of axillary hyperhidrosis. Its technology has been shown to significantly reduce sweating and odor, with a high clinical safety profile.

In many patients, a single session achieves a significant reduction in sweating. Depending on the degree of hyperhidrosis, a second session may be recommended to optimize the result. As the treated glands do not regenerate, the effects are permanent in the treated area.

No. It acts only on the armpits, which represent a small percentage of the body’s sweat glands, so it does not affect overall temperature regulation or increase sweating in other areas.

It is performed under local anesthesia and is usually well tolerated. Mild swelling or temporary sensitivity may occur afterward. Cold compresses may be applied and exercise should be avoided for the first few days, always following medical advice.
