Know the place that is revolutionizing plastic surgery to transform lives
Dr. Isabel Uribe has revealed that plastic surgery procedures not only seek to enhance beauty, but also become true promoters of comprehensive well-being. Today, he shares the secrets behind his exclusive approach, known as “The ClinIq Way”
A beauty is a concept in constant evolution, which has been transformed over time. What in past centuries was considered an aesthetic ideal, today can mean something completely different. Currently, society has linked beauty to well-being, seeking that health, together with an emotional and physical balance, are fundamental elements of it. In short, what is promoted today is a natural, authentic beauty that is accompanied by comprehensive health.
With this approach in mind, Plastic surgery and aesthetic procedures have become a complement that, added to a balanced diet, constant exercise, hydration and facial and capillary care, can make a real difference. For a long time, the field of plastic surgery has been surrounded by stigmata, myths and prejudices, which have led many to consider it a search for an “artificial beauty”. However, Dr. Isabel Uribe is transforming this perception, demonstrating that plastic surgery is closely linked to emotional well-being and comprehensive health.
Medical Director and Plastic Surgeon at Clinq, the leading high-tech aesthetic procedures clinic in Medellin, Dr. Isabel Uribe challenges stigmas and prejudices, consolidating herself as a benchmark in the medical field. Its objective is to demonstrate the innumerable benefits that plastic surgery can bring to patients, beyond conventional standards. With a specialized approach in cases considered “impossible” and in many cases rejected by other surgeons, ClinIQ confirms that, when technology fuses with medicine, anything is possible. “Our motto is “Imposable patients? No! Incredible results”, Dr. Uribe shares with us in an exclusive conversation with the ¡Hello!
A conversation about the beauty and role of technology in contemporary plastic surgery
– Tell us about CLINIQ, how is it born and what is its mission?
We created CLINIQ 20 years ago with the aim of integrating cutting-edge technology to our high-level care, because, although conventional surgery is the basis of what we know, it is technology that allows faster, safer and more effective procedures for our patients. This is how CLINIQ started. We were pioneers in the use of state-of-the-art equipment, and over time, we got the first laser available in Colombia, and it was a hit.
– There are many prejudices about plastic surgery. What would you say are the main ones?
Many think that plastic surgery is superficial, that it is only aimed at those who consider beauty the pillar of their lives, but it is not. Plastic surgery can be a powerful tool for improving self-esteem, and I have seen it in thousands of patients. There are those who arrive safely on the ground, but, when going through the process, they not only experience a physical change, but also an empowerment and a transformation in their mentality. Beauty is not the pillar of life, but you can certainly change it completely.
-For all those who judge those who perform aesthetic procedures, what would you tell them?
It is essential to accept yourself, but if you have the opportunity to do something safe and positive for you, a change that makes you feel much better, why not do it? 80% of our patients are people who have consulted with other surgeons and have been told “No&”. Upon arriving at Cliniq, they experience a complete transformation, but that transformation is not only physical. What really makes a difference is what they do after surgery, how they feel about themselves, and how they work on their comprehensive well-being. One of the great differentiators of ClinIQ is that they perform personalized procedures with patients. For them, the most important thing is that the patient can feel safe before, during and after the operation to help them lose any fear they have about the procedure.
-Why is it important to customize the procedures?
Most surgeons have a line, but I think it is necessary to talk to the patient to know the need of each one. It is important to align the expectations with those of the patient and to know the reasons for the surgery. You have to create a plan together and repeat it many times before the surgery so that there are no surprises that day and everything has been discussed before.
-What recommendations would you give to people who want to have a procedure but are afraid of them?
I have always believed that trust with your doctor is essential. It must be a relationship of mutual honesty, something that is perceived from the first moment. Of course, it is also crucial to seek experience, security and technology.
-What differentiator does CLINIQ have?
The differentiator that we have is based on the management of the patient during the three stages of care: preoperative, surgery and postoperative. From laboratory analyzes to recovery, we have a whole group of specialists who support us in every detail of the process. The operating rooms are their own, so we can control and take care of the quality and safety in all aspects. We ensure that our patients receive the necessary care during their passage through our clinic, including constant post-surgical accompaniment. In our case, we carry out daily reviews to monitor your hydration, diet and any other need you may have, making sure that you feel supported at each stage of your recovery.
One of the main pillars for CLINIQ is technology and innovation. That is how they have created “The Cliniq Way”, a set of techniques, technology and experience that generate the ideal ecosystem for plastic surgery patients, achieving exceptional aesthetic procedures of contour and firmness of the skin, as well as a quick and comfortable recovery. Added to this is the great development and technology team that the clinic has to stay at the forefront and offer a high-level service.
-How do they manage to keep up with new technologies?
We have a development, analysis and technology department. They are always aware of all the advances. I attend 5 or 6 annual congresses to learn about new technologies. A doctor never finishes studying. Technology is a pillar, but 70% is how you use it to make it work. First, it is essential that there are studies that support these new technologies before applying them.
-What are your main technologies?
We have a technology called Renuvion, which is the only FDA approved device for use after liposuction and for subcutaneous tissue contraction. It works with helium, and I consider it the most advanced technology to firm the skin and regenerate collagen. Thanks to it, patients who lose weight achieve a much firmer and tighter skin.. In addition, we use our own techniques and PAL technology. That’s why we create the cliniq way, A unique and personalized experience, specially designed for patients looking for exceptional results.
What does the future of plastic surgery look like and what role will Cliniq play?
We have been evolving in steps of elephant. I firmly believe that we will remain focused on the most challenging cases, those that others considered “impossible”. Most of our patients thought that they would never undergo surgery, and in the end, everyone is amazed at the results.
