Hyperbaric chamber
What is the hyperbaric chamber?
Hyperbaric chamber is a medical treatment that uses pure oxygen in a high-pressure environment to accelerate tissue healing, improve circulation, and promote skin rejuvenation.
This procedure is effective in treating a variety of conditions, from chronic wounds to improving post-surgical recovery and revitalizing aging skin. By increasing the amount of oxygen that reaches damaged tissues, the hyperbaric chamber stimulates cell regeneration and strengthens the immune system, becoming a popular option in aesthetic medicine and plastic surgery.
In addition, it is used by athletes to accelerate muscle recovery, reduce inflammation, and improve physical performance by increasing oxygen supply to muscles and tissues, which facilitates faster recovery after intense training or injuries.
Benefits of the hyperbaric chamber
Acceleration of tissue healing: Improves cell regeneration and accelerates healing of chronic wounds, burns and post-surgical injuries.
Improved circulation: Increases blood flow and oxygenation throughout the body, which promotes the general health of tissues and organs.
Skin Rejuvenation: Promotes healthier, younger skin by stimulating collagen production and improving elasticity.
Reduction of inflammation: Decreases inflammation and pain in affected areas, which is beneficial for chronic inflammatory conditions.
Sports Recovery: Helps athletes recover more quickly from intense training and injuries, improving endurance and physical performance.
Strengthening the immune system: Increases the body’s ability to fight infections and diseases by improving oxygenation and cell function.
Detoxification of the body: facilitates the elimination of toxins and accelerates the detoxification process
The sessions of the hyperbaric chamber are determined according to the needs of the patient and the medical criteria Cliniq. Each session has a duration of 45 minutes to an hour, and after treatment the patient will be able to return to their daily activities immediately.
How is the procedure performed with hyperbaric chambers?
The procedure in a hyperbaric chamber is performed in a controlled environment where the patient remains comfortably inside a pressurized chamber. Once inside, the air pressure in the chamber is gradually increased, usually at a level that is between 1.5 and 3 times the normal atmospheric pressure. During treatment, the patient breathes pure oxygen.
Each session lasts between 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the condition to be treated and the therapeutic objectives. The increase in pressure allows a greater amount of oxygen to dissolve in the blood plasma, which facilitates the deep oxygenation of the body’s tissues. The procedure is non-invasive and patients can relax, read, or even sleep during the session. Upon completion, the chamber pressure is slowly reduced to normal levels before the patient leaves.

The hyperbaric chamber does not require the use of anesthesia. The procedure is completely non-invasive and does not cause pain, so it is not necessary to anesthetize the patient. During the session, patients remain conscious and comfortable, being able to relax or perform light activities such as reading or listening to music. The safe and non-painful nature of treatment means that no local or general anesthesia is needed.
In some cases, depending on the patient’s preferences and the recommendation of the surgeon, general anesthesia can also be used. At ClinIQ, our anesthesiologists evaluate each case individually to determine the most appropriate type of anesthesia, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience.
Recovery after hydrolipoclasy is generally quick and simple, since it is a recovery after treatment in a hyperbaric chamber is immediate, since the procedure is non-invasive and generally very well tolerated.
Patients can resume their daily activities immediately after the session, without the need for rest time or special care. Some patients may experience a slight feeling of fatigue or pressure in the ears, similar to what it feels like to change altitude quickly, but these symptoms usually disappear shortly after the session. In general, there are no significant side effects, and the recovery is fast and without complications.
Hyperbaric chamber treatment does not generate any disability. Due to its non-invasive and safe nature, patients can resume their normal activities immediately after each session. It is not necessary to take time off work or make meaningful adjustments in everyday life. Although some patients may experience a slight feeling of pressure in their ears or fatigue, these effects are temporary and do not interfere with daily activities. In short, the hyperbaric chamber does not produce disability or require recovery time.
Post-treatment recommendations for the hyperbaric chamber are minimal, but it is important to follow some guidelines to ensure the patient’s well-being and optimize the results:
Proper hydration: Drink enough water after treatment to keep the body well hydrated, as additional oxygen can increase the need for liquids.
Avoid strenuous activities: Although most patients can resume their daily activities immediately, it is advisable to avoid intense physical exercises during the first hours after the session.
Monitor pressure in the ears: If you experience any discomfort in your ears, such as a feeling of pressure or tamponade, try making maneuvers to balance pressure, such as swallowing or yawning.
Avoid sudden changes in temperature: It is advisable to avoid exposure to extreme temperatures immediately after treatment so that the body fits properly.
Follow the medical instructions: If treatment in the hyperbaric chamber is part of a broader therapeutic plan, follow all your doctor’s recommendations to complement and maximize the benefits of treatment.
